分子生命科学研究所(細胞工学部門)

プロフィール
分裂酵母(S.pombe)や哺乳類培養細胞をモデル生物として利用し、染色体分配機構や細胞周期制御メカニズムの研究を行っています。進化的に保存された動原体構成タンパク質Mis6の機能解析で学位を取得した後(指導教授:柳田充弘教授 京都大学大学院理学研究科)、米国カリフォルニア州スクリプス研究所に留学し、P.Russell博士の元で細胞周期チェックポイントの研究を行いました。その過程でCid13と名付けたタンパク質が、進化的に保存された細胞質ポリAポリメラーゼであることを突き止めました。帰国後は久留米大学分子生命科学研究所に所属し、引き続き染色体分配・細胞周期コントロール機構の研究を行っています。現在は、栄養飢餓とそれらのコントロール機構との関連性に興味を持っています。また、研究の過程で培った技術や成果の産業応用を視野に入れながら、国内外の企業や研究者との共同研究も進めています。
